Any new firearm purchases?

I'd love a grumman. More specifically.. id love to cannibalize one of the old 500ci fwd Cadillacs for its motor & transaxle to make a big block mid engined grumman with.

They can be had cheap enough at auction... I'll do it one day.

I'm not sure what the deal is with them but they have a reputation for catching fire. From what I understand, the frame and drivetrain is a RWD Ford Ranger. So, it must be something the Postal Service has or hasn't been doing to them over the years. They are long in tooth and the Postal Service has been looking to replace them but hasn't been able to for one reason or another.

S-10 based and 30-40 years old, they have done their time.

I wonder what the average mileage is on one?

Ford did make one based on the Explorer I don't think I have ever seen one though. Interesting they had a flex fuel 4.0...

Well, got that wrong. But yes, they are quite old. I don't recall ever seeing the second one you posted. They weren't made for very long either according to the link. So, what is out there would be pretty uncommon.

The Grumman I want has a pair of Pratt&Whittneys...

I live relatively close to pratt and Whitney.. mabey I'll go dig through their dumpster later and see if I can getcha something

Hopefully your wife's maiden name is Grumman, and "Pratt&Whitneys" is a new euphemism for tatas. If you were thinking about a plane...

You just thought a boat was a money pit, it ain't got anything on an airplane.

Yeah, its just the price of upkeep holding me back...

We went to the gunshow today and while walking past a table with rifles that the prices were less than 2k, i told my wife that the rifles we always talked about getting were right here, amd i pointed to three low priced ar15 rifles.

She picks all three up and says these are twp the lightest, lets get one of these. I laugh, ok, pick one.

She points to the m&p 15 so the lady says meet her at the table for the paperwork. My wife days she is going to the cheese amd meat table and will come back with some, and some tea. Ok, i will do the paperwork.

So the lady and i are tslking about houson traffic versus los angeles traffic while we are doing everything amd my wife comes back, no tea or jalapeno cheese.

my wife still says nothing about the rifle or anythingand its brand new, in the box, so she cant see it anymore.

Everything finishes up amd we go home and eat and i pull the rifle out to clean it and oil it and she goes "thats not the one i picked". I laugh and said you sure did, you pointed and the lady behind the table got a new one for you. She says she wanted the $450.00 rifle with the thing around the barrel for your hands that stuff can mount on, ha ha ha. I said the anderson arms rifle? She said yes, how much was this one? I said you picked the $599.00 smith and wesson.

Now she is mad.

Oh well, at least she has a rifle now. A smith and wesson m&p 15 sport 2. It looks like it will work fine for what she will do, which is never take it out if the package again, just like her etched black chrome sig p238 with ivory grips. She has owned that for about 7 years and other then cleaning it, its never been used for anything but looking nice.
