16s are really cool. My old shoulder just can't take a 12 any more. The few scatterguns I've gotten recently have been two 20s, and a .410.

Looks like you've got a sweet shooter in that one.

Depending on what you're using it for, maybe look for stuff like this:

Rio Royal Buck Low Recoil 12 Gauge 2-3/4in 00 Buck Buckshot Shotshell - 5 Rounds

OR

Aguila Minishell 12 Gauge 1-3/4" #4 Buck/#1 Buck 5/8 oz 25rds Shotshell

My main shotgun usage is for "bump in the night" type situations and either should work well for that. I bought a case of the Rio several years ago. It patterned and penetrated well, and seemed to actually have less recoil than the normal buckshot.

I bought some of the minishells which also advertise low recoil. The main draw back to them is that they allegedly don;t feed well in some pump shotguns due to the short length, but there is a company offering and adapter, and I bouight i for me mossberg pump. Haven't gotten around to trying them out yet, so can;t eally speak to recoil or function. IIRC my magazine tubes hold 5 normal shells, can should be about 8 with the mini shells. Are three extra shots necessary? Probably not, but they are there if needed (assuming that it actually feeds them properly).

Not sure what similar offerings are out there for other purposes, but might be worth looking into.

Need to probably clarify a post I made here,

Get you some kerosene and a brownells CARDING brush (not a typical wire brush) and boil it out! If it hasnt been going on too long you can still save the bluing thats on it!

Dont boil your gun in kerosene, nuff said. If people need more info on getting rid of rust on guns I'll start another thread.

That color of cat is the best mouse catchers... period.

Went shooting Sunday... they had a pumpkin shoot going on. Place was packed. After getting on a pistol lane and ducking flying brass til I was able to put up a fresh target. When I stepped back... I reached into my tshirt pocket and pulled out 4 rounds of spent brass. A .40... 2 9mm and a .223. Absolutely crazy.

I hung a new target... put 5 rounds through the Brawler @15 yards. Took this picture and packed things up and spectated the rest of the day.

I kinda like the Brawler... might look into putting an optic on it. Not sure what I'll put on it... never put any kind of optic on a handgun. Just my old eyes... maybe my progressive lenses... it was a challenge getting open sights and the target all in focus together.

Never shot the CVA. Just too many people... and they would have likely chased me off with making smoke with it.

Gonna have to go back on a slower day.

You'll need a few sticks of PVC, six T fittings, four caps, and a small roll of window screen. Make four 12" lengths with caps on one end. Fill with sand and plug with hot glue. Install these into the handlebars of two T fittings. Next install a 6" piece of stick into the stems of the T-fittings. Next, figure out how long you want your shield to be, and make two sticks this lenth. Put the four remaining T fittings stem on both ends of these. Put one on the 6" pieces you put on the legs. Then decide how tall to make your shield. Make two sticks that length, and add them on top of the first length wise brace, then add the second length wise brace on top. Secure screen to the uprights between the two lengthwise braces so they can be removed and rolled up. Make sure your screen is a course size so its less prone to blowing over. You can also bring stuff to set on the feet. You now have the worlds largest brass deflector. You're welcome.

Its a big rectangle with T shaped feet at two corners. I used to deal with ranges. Where I live now people just go out in the woods.

Yeah... those options don't work here for me.

Honestly... with the ban here currently on certain firearms... you would never know it with what I saw on Sunday. I only saw four rifles that didn't fall under the current ban. Two lever guns and two bolt rifles.

Hell even the trap shooting areas were full of tactical shotguns.

I guess I'll just have to miss the days of old...

I know what you mean. There was an unmanned range where I used to live in Cali and it was ok weekdays in the morning. Your que to leave was when the white vans full of Russians showed up. They all had full auto mac10s. A reserve buddy of mine drove there one day and just kept driving, apparently two rival gangs were duking it out in the parking lot. . . And not with fists. Even without all those idiots, you were taking your life in your hands every time you went out there. Our regulated outdoor range was gay and didn't allow rapid fire. All those issues were fixed once the folks and I moved outside city limits onto property. I wish everybody could have their own range :/

Now that Im in idaho, me and a few buddies go out to gravel pits for fast paced stuff. One spot you can shoot almost 360* around yourself out to 100 yards if you're alone. Theres a big open field nearby that gets you out to a hair over 900 yards.

Yeah, I have never have been to a gun range.

We used to have date nights and go to an indoor archery range during the winter, that was a lot of fun.

I know a guy who has one of those projector screen training ranges built inside a conex box. Zombies mode with the binary ar was pretty sweet but man you'll wake up with the hangover of your life the next day XD no alcohol required. The comp on that thing made my eyes rattle around like a pair of dice!
