Any Mustang enthusiasts here?

I asked this on another web site but never got a real answer to what I was asking. I have been thinking about getting another Mustang after owning a 1987 LX Mustang and it is been 15 years since I got rid of it and don't know what I'm going to do with my Ranger IF I do get back into Mustangs. I was wondering if the late model V6 Mustangs were offered with the 6 speed manual or did they come with the 5 speed manual and were the V6 models offered with the limited slip differential?

I have never seen a V6 Mustang with a 6-speed. That doesn't mean they weren't made, just that I haven't seen one.

I have seen them with LSD.

To be honest though, the only reason to get the V6 is if you don't like power or fuel economy. They are peppy, but don't have the power of the GT, and get about the same mileage in town, actually a little worse on the highway.

Limited slip was an uncommon option to have because that was about the same time traction control was becoming pretty standard, and traction control is supposed to (in the engineer's mind) take the place of a limited slip.

Pretty sure you could get a manual with them. Later on you could even get the performance package with them.

The 3.7 cars are the later model ones I assume you are referring to, 05-10 4.0 cars were not much to brag about.

11+ V6 misses a little torque but has similar hp as a 05-10 GT, and they run pretty similar too.

I watched a two week old 2011 V6 automatic pummel two late model GTO's (LS1 or LS2 cars) They might have got him in the quarter but eighth mile they couldn't get a word in edgewise run after run. Not badly driven either.

6 speeds started in 2013 for the V6 and could up-grade to the performance package as mentioned.

Thanks guys as I'm not much into V8's. There is nothing wrong with V8's, I'm more into fuel economy than performance.

Well with careful driving you can have both. I average 27-28 mpg on interstate doing 72 mph, best of 30. In town usually get 21-22. That's with my 670 hp 3.31 geared Roush.

If you want it on the cheap insurance might make you pay dearly for two more cylinders...

My brother gets high 20's if he can avoid ethanol with his 3.73 geared '11 6 speed GT.

Like I said, the 4.0 sucks on gas.

The 4.0 Mustang gets fuel economy similar to a 4.0 Ranger or Explorer. 16 to 18 MPG.

A 4.6 should pull 20s consistently. Especially on the highway.
