i was drivin my truck tonight and i look behind me and i have a trail of thick white steam behind me so i pull over and sit there for a second and i get out to see a pool of antifreeze on the ground. I drove for about 10 miles back towards without overheating then i stopped to get coolant at a station. I periodically stopped once the temp went past normal and put some in. I topped it off about 10 miles from home and it drove fine all the way. I got home to take a look and i cant find a leak and nothing is dripping now. So where do i start with this kind of problem? Thanks in Advance! Its a 94 by the way.

Overflow, could be a bad radiator cap, not seeing fluid leaking could be cause it all leaked out, start it up fill up the rad. And let it get warm while idleing while checking for leaks, make sure hose clamps are tight as well

talk about messed up... filled up the radiator let it idle for a while couldn't find any leaks or problems no overheating, took it out for a little bit ran fine same deal no leaks or anything, i want it to be the cap just because that would be easy, haha but im worried it'll do it again while going down the road later on.

Cap's a cheap item to replace. I always spring for the one with the safety lever on the top. You can have your current one tested as well with the pressure tester. Heck, I'd suggest having a shop put the tester on the radiator anyway and see if it holds pressure, or leaks it out.

Just got home.. i went with the Lev-r-vent cap. Im about to top off the radiator and put the new cap on and search for leaks again. Say i dont find any leaks on the hoses or connections. or anything once again. What should i do after that?

Just got done driving it. no leaks not a single thing. Temp is fine everything is good haha .. So do i just pretend it never happened or do you think it was just the cap?

Keep an eye on things and if it starts acting up again check for leaks again or have it pressure tested at a shop, you should take a look under the hood and see what has coolant on it, if it was the cap then that little spout will have coolant around it and anything in its path will too
