this is on the intake tube of my 96 3.0 ranger. i dont know what it is i cant find the wire for it.

Well, a wider shot would be nice, but off hand I'd say that is probably the Intake Air Temp sensor.
That plug outta be not far from the IAC. I'm not sure about that, but it would be my best guess.

yup...that's it.the plug has to be close by.edit-that's the one on the plastic intake tube...seems to me those are sometimes on a pretty long wire-it could have dropped down the front of the motor.
