I need extra payload capacity and I don't like looking at my ass end sag when pulling heavy trailers.

From what I have read here I can add a leaf and get 1.5"-2" of lift. Where can I purchase these leafs? got a link? which ones? are these ok?:

h ttp://cgi.ebay.ca/Ford-Add-Leaf-Spring-LIFT-KIT-F150-Ranger-Explorer-Co-/250170103087?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AFord|Model%3ARanger

Since I will be raising the back could I just dial up my torsion keys for 1.5"-2" of lift? then get an alignment.

Is there anything else that needs to be done to the truck to achieve this? Any recommendations?

I am in Ontario, Canada

Thanks

You could do the add-a-leaf, however '08+ Rangers have lower torsion keys in the front and 1" shorter blocks in the rear than '07-earlier models, so you can just swap over to the earlier parts if you like. Regardless, if you routinely carry heavy loads then an add-a-leaf would be good anyway. Some Rangers came with a higher payload package and have a noticeably heavier spring pack.

+1 for add-a-leaf.

I would think that if you twisted your torsion keys for an extra inch and used a taller block (without actually doing anything to make the rear end stiffer), you really wouldn't be doing much of anything to combat the sag.

actually.....if you just want to keep your truck level while carrying a load or heavy trailer ( as long as it is whithin reason ) you should consider Air-Ride helper springs.....

they bolt on easy enough....don't have to have a onboard compressor....just a little cigarette lighter one will do....and fill the bags to "level out" what you are hauling....then release the pressure when ya done.....

Thanks for the replies, is there any reputable shop that you guys buy you leafs from? or is the one on ebay good?

Thanks again.
