another header question

My question on this topic always comes to but why? There are headers that fit for not much more.

Matt

Baddad,
What's the size of the primary tubes? No fit problems with any of the trany's? They sure ought to fit one of the late, '98' and newer with no problems?
Dave

I don't know the tube sizes offhand. Bought em used on ebay for $85. They work well enough to serve a 400+ hp 331 with three carbs, Canfield heads and a Z303 roller. They fit transmissions with the 157 tooth bell, they can be slightly mod'ed to work with 164 tooth bells. 98+ trucks ? that I can't tell you.

you are correct there are headers that are made for the 302 swap. i like taking the hard route plus you get some people that are broke sob that want to go fast and headers for only 100 dollars with a little mod to the frame ( i know its not the best thing to do ) but if you box it right where you cut it, i really cant see any issue's with the frame being weak or cracking..

:D$100 ? I only paid $85 for my Tri-Y's and never cut the frame.:icon_thumby: (nickel-chromed, used off ebay):icon_confused:

wanting a few pics

the long tube headers you posted for 100 dollars DO work... BUT, you have to cut your frame alittle and mod your steering shaft alittle bit... i'll see if i can get to my buddys house and get pics of his.. thats what he did and thats what i'm doing

Hey whats going on? I was going to run a set of Mac long tubes i already have on my combo. I was already planning on doing a little cutting and re-enforcing to the frame to make these fit. any pics you can get me or even a detailed explanation of where and how much needed to be trimmed to let the long tubes fit would really be appreciated. Thanks dude.
