So I come to all of you as a brand new babe into the big scary world of crap that can go wrong with your "free" '94 Ranger in which NOBODY can give a definitive answer as to why it does what the hell it does. I will find the appropriate place to post that nightmare right after I finish publishing this intro thread. It should be a decent read and I honestly BEG each and every one of you who take the time to read this post to read my next post which I guess I will title, "My gift and my curse".

So I am Steve, and it's a pleasure to meet the acquaintance of each of you all. With that being said, I live in Arizona. More specifically: In the middle of nowhere. Way out here in the land of coyotes, snakes, and record breaking days of high heat are where me and my ungrateful, maddening, & perplexing '94 Ranger 2WD reside. This truck and myself became married one very unassuming afternoon when I got tired my ex's mom's old beat up and broke down Ranger being parked outside my house on 4 flats and a broken will to go on. That's right... I jumped on the phone and called that woman up to ask her when she was going to get the eyesore out of my sight as it had been abandoned 5 months prior and she hadn't looked at the truck since she left it for dead. Long story short: She claimed she was going to call pick-a-part and have them tow it away so she never had to deal with it again. This is when I opted to open my big mouth to let her know that pick-a-part would only offer her $50 for the truck. and offered her $25 and the peace of mind to finally be done with her little extended cab nightmare

This was at least 7 years ago.... I still haven't managed to get this truck driving right. And it's not for lack trying, either. This truck refuses to help me figure out the never-ending laundry list of things that keep it from being a simple "Turn-key" daily beater.

Pleasure is all mine, fellas. Glad to be here.

Well then...not too unusual of a story.
Welcome to TRS. Looking forward to your next post.

Just remember to go slow as some of us are a little addle-brained - I am anyway.

Maybe its bad juju. Some cars are just cursed. Back in high school my good buddy had a mostly original, fully restored '63 El Camino. He scored it from his evil step mom, who inherited it from her Vietnam vet purple heart father. I swear this thing was just plain cursed. It was always having the most random breakdowns, and even some random unprovoked accidents. Even the dash randomly caught fire once. Cursed.

Thanks for the welcome. I posted something in the 2..3l section.

Yeah, buddy. It's nuts. Most cars like me. Along with kids and animals... But this truck... I don't get it. I've treated her so damn well.

Welcome!

As for the truck, well, sometimes it goes like that. I had a 92 that I got before it went to scrap. Didn’t need much and it was a great truck, even after reducing a piston to slag on the highway. Threw another motor at it and it did great again until I got plowed into by someone passing a semi in the center turn lane. I also have a 00 that gave me a decent list of headaches including having to replace half the frame. And there’s my F-150, the first year I owned it, I spent more than twice what I spent for the truck on parts to fix it.

Welcome to the site.
