This may be a dumb question, but I’m still learning and trying to conceptualize the wiring for a planned duraspark conversion. Is this ignition coil what I need for the conversion? These are the instructions I’m using and if so, I think it’s the only part I still need to purchase. I already have a new distributor, a canister coil, new plugs and wires, and a duraspark box. However, I didn’t realize until rereading the instructions that I might need this part from MSD as well.

I was under the impression pretty much any coil could be make to work as long as it's wired right. (With a resistor if necessary.)

Are you planning to use a MSD controller?

I wasn’t. I bought a powerspark distributor from England with a canister coil and a regular duraspark box, but the instructions from bronco corral call for both a canister coil and an access or msd coil so I’m just confused.

Canister coil should be fine.

Hell, I've seen them used on ATVs and lawn mowers.
