ok so I posted a thread the other day and got allot of feedback and good information
so here it goues again.

I have a 91 ranger in the process of a v8 swap
I found a 97 v8 explorer at my local junk yard that
the guy said he would sell me motor all accesories
computer and complete harness with all switches
bumper to bumper for 500$
I wanted the entire harness so that everything would work properly
and I wouldn't have to "modify? the harness
however after looking through these forum's im not so shure.

so my questions and concerns are as follows.

1.from what iv read the explorer computers dont like modifications?

2.would it be a better idea just to buy the engine w/ accessories
and get a 89-93 mustang harness/computer and just suck it up and
make a harness?

3. if so what should I pay for the engine w accessories ?

4.if I do end up going with the "complete" explorer engine harness
etc I will be using a t5 trans, will that cause problems since the transmission
that came in the explorer was electronically controlled?

bassicall just need to know the best route to go, trying to get everything
together so idont waste money here and there and everywhere.
and also really dont want to get messy with wiring but if I have to I will

any advice is greatly appreciated and if you have any other info
that you think will help me or others feel free to post
thanks in advance guys!

IMHO that's a pretty good price. How many miles is it showing?

Stick with the Explorer OBDII computer for one good reason. The Fox electrics are old and age can cause all kinds of gremlins. Many Mustangs are there because of electrical related problems that could not be solved in an economical way.

Others may disagree, but your here for opinions and ideas.

Quite a few members are better at electrical conversion that I.....so here's a bump to the top for your project.:headbang:
