We've been adventuring in this truck for the past 4 years, it hasn't changed very much and remained fairly stock...until now.

Here's what I started with:

When we started exploring more remote places we upgraded a little bit, slight torsion bar crank with 31's and a topper (later went from stock 15x7 to 15x8 wheels with increased backspacing):

This setup didn't work out very long. With my wife and I plus two dogs sleeping room was way to tight. We eventually decided to drop the topper (I didn't like the truck as a DD with the added weight) and go with a lighter gear list. We swapped the topper for a roll up tonneau cover:

And here is a teaser pic of what's to come:

Not a LT yet, hopefully one day. For now I went with the wheelnparts spindle lift from eBay, a lot of guys on the Ranger forums are running it with good results. I also replaced upper and lower ball joints, and shocks all around. Here's a few unexciting driveway pics:

I have about a 1" lean on the passenger side, a TB adjustment should solve that. Originally I was thinking of running 33's but I like the look of the 31's. Still not 100% sure. I have a few loose ends to tie up: still need to replace tie rods, install new fender splash shields, and repaint center caps. Hopefully I'll have it all complete this weekend if the weather permits.

Once the suspension is finished my next project before the Florida camping season begins will be figuring out an organization system for the bed. Currently we use 3 trunks that aren't easy to get things in and out of nor efficient.

Nice truck. I like it alot, I wish mine was an extended cab. What rear end and transmission do you have in it? Keep the pictures coming.

Kyle.

Thanks, wasn't sure anyone was following this. It's a 8.8 rear with 4.10's and an auto.

Here's some more:

I also have an early RCI skidplate.

I think one of my next projects will be repainting this with the Rustoleum hammered finish.

I've had an OHC that I bought a long time ago. I mounted it but never wired it up, that is, until this weekend.

I've also built a platform in the rear cab for my dogs. When they ride I have a 3" thick piece of foam cut to fit with a custom pillow case type design cover. Underneath I have a fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and misc manuals/documents.

My bed setup is pretty simple, I have a hi-lift mounted on the passenger side and normally the shovel is mounted to the hi-lift. I have a watertight storage box that I keep misc recovery gear, fluids, and tools in.

My next big job will be painting the chassis. I also need to figure out either how to replace the rubber trim around the quarter glass on the extended cab or how to get it painted, it looks terrible right now.

The next big purchase will be 16's and some 32's or 33's.

And this is what happens when you hit a buzzard at highway speeds:
