Amp location

Yup, my B4000 had a wiring harness for a cruise control module, even though not present. Found this out when some rodents got to chewing on the wiring harness under the hood. Fortunately, mostly the cruise harness had the damage, plus plug wires. Bought a wiring book for that year and figured out what it was and taped off the bare wires, and bought new plug wires.

Factories are set up for assembly to be as quick as possible, and reasonably idiot-proof. It would be a nightmare if trucks coming off the line had to have different harnesses / fuse boxes / etc.

I guess that makes sense, it was one of my excuses for thinking it had a amp :) Is there a chance it would have the wiring run to the center console?

Smartass answer... Someone stole it when you were in HomeDepot.

But seriously, like everyone said... it cheaper to build one part 70,000 times, than it is to build 70,000 parts one time.
