Im new to audio stuff but i got 2 12s and a amp all kenwood and i was thinking about making a box out of particle wood and pexiglass on the front. With green neon inside and either painting the plexiglass black and leaving the monster logo clear or cutting the monster logo out cause doesnt the amp need to stay cool so by cutting it out it would help heat to escape right. I guess what my question is even with that cut out would the amp still be getting to hot in there? I would be mounting the amp to the back wall on a 91.

depending on the kind of amp you have it may have a built-in cooling fan. Some may also have an internal temperture sensor that will cut power to the amp before it has a chance to overheat and won't come back on untill it has sufficently cooled down. I had an amp with the latter in it and I believe I killed it. I havent had the time yet to check to see what the problem is. Its a no name brand called "Profile". Are you planning to mount your amp inside your sub box? Almost all amps have switches that require a philips head screw drive to turn them. These switches tune your amp. You will need access to these in order to get the subs to hit the way you like. So I recommend mounting the amp outside. Like on the backside of the box where no one will look.

No i got my two sub boxs to the pass. side and drivers side and i was going to mount a box with plexiglass cover on the back wall inbetween the two sub boxes. and mounting the amp in that. Yes i know about the tuning switch and was goin to make them so i can get at them. I was just wondering if the amp would overheat too much in this and not cool good.

it should probably have enough air flow... it just depends on how tight the box is to the amp. if it's got a fan, or slits somewhere in the case or something similar, then you want as much free space around that as possible.

to be the safest, i'd just run it mounted to the back of the cab or to a single piece of backing. don't box it in.

but honestly, you'd probably be alright.

does the backside of your amp have any holes in it from when it was made? if it does i would hook up a computer fan and place it so it pulls the air away from your amp. But thats if you have it in a very small box. but otherwise you should be fine with how you want to set it up.
