It seems to still be a thing... I was hoping it would have been a bit better by now.

I always run through the gun department in every store that has one just to see. It looks a tiny bit better these days but the shelves remain mostly empty.

Today at Wally World and found 22LR shells. Winchester Super X 40gr. hollow points. Box of 300 for $26. I asked for two boxes and they rang up at $40 and change each. They gave them to me for $26. They wouldn't let me buy 2 more at that price. I thought it was a good deal... just wish i would have asked for 4 to begin with.

Still can't find a single 12 or 20 shot shell anywhere.

Less than a dollar a round. That's pretty decent considering what they have been running. Just checked Gunbroker and see that 380 ACPs are running under a dollar a round as well, so maybe things are getting better. A few months ago they were at 1.30 - 1.50 a round.

I have more ammo stored away than zombies. I ordered online about a year ago when 5.56, 7.62x39, and .45ACP was incredibly cheap. It seems .38 SPC/.357 Mag never dropped in price much. Finding .22 LR in CCI Mini Mag has been harder to source since both my rifle and Hi-Standard pistol are fussy about cheap ammo.

I’ve been noticing more guns on the shelves, just not much more ammo....

8cpr is pretty nowadays for .22. A few years ago I would have considered anything over 5cpr highway robbery.

I haven’t gone to the range in almost too years because it’s too expensive to shoot.

Just going with armor plated cars ftw

Still pretty miserable selection around me, prices ain't what they used to be either.

I will run out of water long before my pile of shiny projectiles. I feel it is because of my shopping mentality; I've always maintained 18 months tp x4 humans, 36 months canned goods x4 humans, 24 months water x4 humans and 10 years bullets, 20 years primers.

I will die of thirst, before lead poisoning. A lotta good these will do me not operating an electronic auto with no gas stations RIGHT

They actually had some federal 22LR that were .06 cents per round.

I'm pretty confident these Super X rounds will run through my semi-autos... they always did in the past anyway.

I'm pretty well set on 22lr now... I would really like to find some .22 mag .40 and .44 mag. Also some shot shells game loads in 20 and 12 gauge. The only shotgun shells I've seen in nearly 2 years is some way over priced buckshot... a few boxes of slugs and turkey loads.

I have to work in Dekalb today... gonna make my rounds after work and see what I can turn up.

Between gun broker and my local gun shop i havent had much trouble getting .38 special or 12 gauge shells. But the prices are still outrageous, although still high enough to be aggravating, not as aggravating as having my brand new bargin basement 12 ga in the closet and no chance to pop it off lol.

Still not great around here either.

Manpower shortages, supply chain issues, Remington going bankrupt, and people buying up stock to resale at gunbroker and other places are all contrubuting.

Rumor mill on the government buying a bunch of ammo as well. With routine training and continuing operations, not sure how much of that is just people trying to fuel the flames.

Reloaders are having problems getting primers since ammo manufacturers favor ammo contracts over reloader sales as well.

I bought two boxes of 300 Blackout in the past year... That's it, nothing else. Cabela's is about the best source locally and prices are coming down slowly. Been reloading a bit but trying to conserve components too... I refuse to pay $120/brick for primers.

I remember a few years back when it was rumored the dept. Of agriculture had bought like 12 billion .45 hollow point lol so thats been a thing forever.

here in Commiefornia, they want your money and your blood. 50rd Box of crappy plinking .22LR? No problem, that'll be a couple of jacksons, a fingerprint, thumbprint, SS#, Mothers maiden name...and fill out this form and sign this record book. Oh and we have to do a background check, wait here for about 30-45 mins. Oh and there's a $10 fee for all this. Limit one box per transaction.

Dude, move. I know you respect yourself enough to not be ruled in such a fashion.
