I have a 76 cj 4x4 with a 258 inline six and 3 speed stick I'm thinking of moving the drivetrain over to my ranger. its two wheel drive now but that will make it 4x4 and the leafs run under the axles so I can slam it and have four wheel drive . I had a 258 with a c4 or
c6 I cant remember . I guess what I want to know is does a 302 bolt to the amc 3 speed ?

Not sure on this one but the C4 has a removable bell housing. As for the C6 its' bell housing is cast as part of the trans itself.

i'm not even sure it was a c4 but i think it was . if it will bolt up i have everything i need
