50's = Birth of Rock -
60's = Stone Age
70's = Classic Rock
80's = Glam Rock
90's = Grunge ( pronounced - gAr-bahj )
2000's - present = Back to basics, I really have to hand it to todays rock bands,( Breaking Benjamin, A7X, FFDP and the like) they seem to want to get back to Real Music and not some over produced EDM/POP album.

Also I prefer HIP HOP, the "New Rock&Roll":thefinger:

In the defense of some of the EDM crap... Moby was a massive trendsetter, and the ones that followed him (DeadMau5, Avicii, JamieXX, alt-J, etc) have put some quality stuff out there. Granted, it's not anything that is groundbreaking as a cultural trend. In my case, I fell into it because I could actually freaking hear it, and because (typically) a lot of the EDM artists are solo acts. It's sort of a display of individual creativity (instead of music-by-comittee).

Oh, and the truly great EDM folks can indeed perform live.

As far as hip hop is concerned, where would the world be without Nappy Roots and Atmosphere?

The only music I listen to is 1920's swing music while choking myself in the bathtub dressed as kermit the frog.

I don't even know what EDM is. I thought it stood for electric discharge machining.

But.... honestly I really should be bathing more, not less!

Music started in 1987. Everything before that was a mistake.
