Hey everyone. I am working on changing a bad water pump on my 1997 2.3litre 4 cylinder and realized that I may be missing a gasket, but the autoparts stores are telling me that there is not a gasket. It goes between the waterpump and the lower water outlet. (metal piping that connects to the lower rad hose and heater hose) The 2 parts fit together, but dont seem to seal. Do I just use silicone or how do O seal them? Any help is appreciated. I need to get this back together and this is bothering me. Thanks in advance!

I think there's an O-ring on the back of the pump normally, but thats an application where you just need some RTV.
