Am I getting ripped off if I do?

Yesterday I got of couple of estimates to get my truck repainted. One shop wanted at least $2,200.00 and the other wanted $3,400.00. Is this about right or is it a big rip pff?

Paint jobs are pretty damn expensive. I wouldn't be surprised.

kinda depends on the condition of your truck to start. I mean how much prep work are they goona have to do before they paint?

I know I wouldnt have somebody do it for a lower price thats for sure. They are goona have to shave time inorder to make money an that equals cutting corners.

You might go to a few more shops an ask for estimates as well. Just remember that ya get what ya pay for

You get what you pay for. $3400 is going to get you a pretty decent paint job.

When I got a quote to get my truck painted by the guys we use through work, he told me over his last 10 years there that for a good paint job from them averages $300 a panel....

2x front fenders
2x rear fender
1x cowl
1x grille
4x cab (top, sides, back)
1x tailgate
4x doors (inside/outside)
5x cab (all sides)

thats a $6000 paint job the way I see it.....
