Thanks for the advice, guys. I need to take my dad next time. I'm thinking of getting an Explorer now because of how much better a deal they seem to be, plus they have a real back seat, and if I need a truck I can borrow my dad's or my bro's.

+1. It might not be the "best" of both worlds, but at least you get some of both worlds....

They're a better deal because they all tend to have tons of miles....

sport trac is ranger up front under the skin...I still want to own a double lifted sport trac down the road. I still wish Ford offered a true 4dr and 6' bed in the compact/midsize trucks. I'd jump all over it if they did.

What I meant by the Explorer being a better deal is that I can get a loaded one for the same price as a Ranger that has just the basics, and the mileage isn't much more for some Explorers. I don't like the look of the Sport Trac really and the bed has no use for me since it's so small.
