As we all know, having any ride is an on-going thing!!! I bought my 99 Ranger brand new in July of 99. I just turned 70,000 miles on it last week. The paint still looks new and it only has a few scratches from driving it out in the woods and out on the road. It gets washed and waxed often. The tan interior still looks like new (except for the arm rest area on both side. They have faded just a bit. I am getting them recovered in black this summer. I see that this is common with most Ford products.
I am going to have the window tint removed and redone this summer. It has a few wrinkles in it that are starting to show, now. I keep saying I am going to add a grill/brush guard (like the early Warn type). I bought and then sold to really nice custom bumpers that I never used. One I had a Suzuki Samurai builder make a bumper for my Ranger without the mount brackets. I would add my own later and never did. Got my money back on that. I then got up in the attic and got down my old Ford Accessories bumper that I bought years ago. It was a neat looking thing. It was for the late Bronco2 and the late 80's rangers. I bought it from my Ford dealer. I got a neat brochure catalog when I bought my new 89 Bronco2 back in 89. Sold that also. I guess I never got the guts to get one of them mounted!!!! Here are some photos of my on-going Ranger projects that will most likely never end....

Adding clear lights. Changing the yellow to clear

Ranger lifted with 33x12.5x15's before the 3" body lift

Clear lower driving lights added and my Reese front 2" receiver hitch added

Spare tire carrier (flat mount) added a few years ago and modified with more metal welded to it

Bed extender (Westin) in position. Nice snug fit and a very usable item.

I had a Hi-lift jack receiver (2") mount made up. Not too happy with it. Only used it once on the front receiver

That is one nice looking truck. The only thing I don't like about it is the spare tire in the back. I know it's too big to fit under the truck in the factory mount, but doing it this way you lose most of your cargo space. Although really, it looks cool.

Haha. I don't think he's shooting for maximum cargo space. But I agree because I use my bed a lot. It does look great though. Also when you install a body lift, you can't keep your spare under the truck because you can't access the crank to lower the tire.

i like it, we did the same kind of tire mount on my brothers STX, but hes already finding out that theres not much room in his bed for more than 6pack of beer and a back pack full of disc golf frisbees. if you get sick of it that just means its really time to get a front bumper w/ brush guard made up and a rear to match with a tire swing on it! truck looks good, keep it up!

Thanks guys, for the nice comments. Yes...I do loose some cargo space. Sometimes I don't care and then once in awhile....I need all of it. If I do have to run after very long stuff I take out the spare and the bed extender and hope I don't need that spare!! I don't have my MX bikes or my ATV bikes anymore so I went ahead and put the tire in the back. I do have a Yakima roof rack and I have a roof basket. The gas mileage goes down with the roof basket installed when we go on those long drives up to Ocala, Fl where we have some property that is great for trail riding and viewing the wildlife we love so much. I thought about adding the spare tire behind the tail gate but have never really looked into it to hard.

with the 3" body lift, can you see the frame when you're looking at the side of the truck?

I want to put larger tires (like, 33's) under my truck, but I don't want the expense of a full suspension lift, so I'm interested in the body lift.

Just a suggestion

When I had tint redone on my 92 Camaro several years ago the cost of them removing the old, delaminated film was actually MORE than installing new! So I got some single edged razor blades and some special adhesive solvent made for removing tint and did it myself. The big back hatch window on that car was a bear but probably only took 45 mins to an hour and I think I saved more than $100.

Something to consider.

Nice truck BTW

Yes, you can see a bit of the frame. You really have to look for it. I will find a side shot and put it up for you so you can see.

Thanks, Bro. Yes it is a pain to remove that tint. I did it once on my 74 MGB and it took me forever to remove the tint from the two windows. I have tried to install my own tint before on my 68 'Cuda and one window came out so bad I just took to a pro. There is a place close by that will tint my wife's 4 dr car (she never had it own before). They will redo my truck (just two windows the driver side and the passenger side). They will do both cars for $145. They have been in business for about 16 years so I will trust them. I think it is a good deal since they have to remove my old window tint.

Looks really nice man. Do you have a product # for that Reese front hitch?

No, sorry I dont have it any more. I tossed out the box it came in. I bought it brand new on Ebay about two years ago. I paid right at $90.00 with shipping for it.
