Ya I had an 87 4 banger in my 83 chassi that had an aluminum oil pan.

would that be no mods needed?
this is a lat 90's pan.

Heres some info. that I got from the tech. library on the oil pan surfaces/bolt patterns.

1989 - 1994 2.3's are the same as the 1983 - 1988 2.3’s but have a smaller main journal saddle. The oil pan seal surface was changed in 1987 to eliminate the (4) piece seal and holes were added in the front to bolt on the DIS’s crank trigger assembly.

Hope this helps.

modifications are needed to get the pans to work, it's somewhat of a pain, but doable, you have to fill the trough in the rear main cap and change the front seal housing
