Well, I'm in store for a new alternator again.. well, a junkyard one. I plan on getting an explorer alternator, due to a few things in the truck. I have a 95, which years from an explorer would match up? Thank you!

I think he is saying that is you are having repeated alternator failure issues you may want to stop buying used junk.

Agreed. How much have you spent on used alternators? Is it more than one new 130amp alternator with a warranty ($139 with limited lifetime warranty) ?

chances are you can get a good core from the junkyard and then have it rebuilt for less than the junk from autozone. I had a good used large case taurus alt that I used on my 2.9, he swapped the front half of the case to the correct one for a 4.0, rebuilt it and built it up to 200 amps for a whopping total of 85 bucks. Been a couple of years and no problems other than a worn pulley (I reused the pulley that originally came on the alt, it was worn) and that's it. Reason I say that is I've never had good luck with the remanufactured in mexico garbage that most of those big stores peddle,
