hey guys, i am having problems with the alternator im using, its an alternator from a 90 2.9, with the mounts at something like 2 and 6 o clock, and the way it is set up when i rev my engine it will slam into the battery tray. so what im wondering is what alternator has the same electrical plugins, and what it normally come from the factory in, if it exists. and it has to have mounts at 12 and 6 o clock.

thanks,
Jon

I would either look at one from a mustang or and f-150, depending on your bracket setup. Mine's an f-150 and even though the alternator is close, it'll clear everything.

As for plug-ins, probably check yours vs. the 2 models above at the autostore.

91 f150 alernator, has the same plugs as 89 2.9, but 6 and 12 mounting points

not mine but f150 setup

Relocate the battery to the bed. Move a few pounds of weight off of the front.

alright sweet, i would move the battery back there but i still need my cargo space, and if/when i do it ill go dual batterys in a box where the spare used to be. but any way, the f150 alternator is internal regulator right?, and is there a higher amp version with out going to a one wire, they are too expensive.
