my alternator squeaks bad... i put a used 130 amp alt. on it and it has squeaked since like a week after i put it on. it is the alt. squeaking becuase it squeaks when i turn it by hand with the belt off. is there any way to fix this or do i have to just deal with it????
Thanks
Beef

the squeek is likely either due to worn brushes or failing bearings.

the bearings inside the alternator are sealed and non-serviceable. brushes can be replaced if you know what your doing, and if you can find replacements. in either case, i would take care of it before the alternator fails and leaves you stranded.

i usually dont buy used wear items for just that reason.
