Alternator Brand Suggestions?

Hey guys,

A couple weeks ago my daily (1999 Ranger XL 2.5L) developed a squeal. Upon further inspection it appears that it is coming from the alternator bearings. What brands of alternator would you suggest to replace it with? With a 50 mile round trip commute a day I would rather not get stuck on the side of the road.

We ran into the reliability problem with my buddy's ranger. He bought a Autozoo special and the thing crapped out in 4 months.

You should be able to get rebuilt Motorcraft alternators thru Ford (or perhaps an after-market source - Rock Auto?). I'd go that route.
