Has anybody ever used them or can they be used on a ranger? I was on there website trying to build one but i dont know all the specs that i need. but just curious if they can be used i know there pricey but i would rather save my money and buy one then to pieace togther a doubler.

4x4junkie is the only one I know of running an Atlas

You need the 25-spline input version w/1310 CV front yoke, and rear flange w/3.5" bolt circle I think it was (or 2.5" bolt spacing).

Get the 4-speed version if you can. I actually prefer my dual-case 1354 over my 2-speed Atlas (the 4-speed wasn't out yet when I bought mine).

Well they dont offer a 25 spline for the 4 speed just the 2 speed. maybe i need to email them and ask them. If i'm gonna pay $2500 for the 2 speed might as well spend the extra $1k on the the 4 speed. any idea what gear ratio i would need? I'm running 35's tires and this fall i plan on doing my explorer rear swap and i plan on running 4:88 gears i also have the 4.0 with 5speed tranny.

and what about the tailhousing they have a standard and and heavy duty and if i remember correctly the speed sensor is on the tcase right? also did if come with the levers and stuff cause mine is that push button crap.

Save your money. Unless your doing some serious rock crawling, your stock transfer is fine.

Hmm well i don't do rock crawling dont want to get body damage. the most my truck see's is trail riding at the local off road park and i take all the easy trails cause i dont want to get my truck all banged up. i horse around out in my field in the mudd and stuff and i plan on taking it to the sand dunes this year. The altas would be probably the last thing i would buy for my truck. I'm working on getting stuff for gears and lockers and still decideding on going dana 44 up front or save some money and keep the dana 35.

Doesn't sound like anything you need an Atlas for.
The Atlas (or dual cases) is almost entirely used for rock crawling.
Get some decent gears in your axles (5.13:1 if wheeling is it's main purpose) and you should be fine with just the stock case.

Ok dosnt sound like i need an altlas then unless i decide to take up rock crawling.

i thought about getting 4:88 gears it would be nice to use 5th gear again lol since it does get driven on the street more than the trails. i already got an the explorer rearend just gotta save money for the lockers, gears, chrome moly shafts and all that other crap lol.

8.8 shafts will take some abuse, and replacements can be found in junkyards for dirt cheap. Id run stockers especially for 'easy trail riding' on 35s.
