ive got a 95 ranger, 4.0, 5 speed, 4x4 that needs rebuilt. i currently have a f150 as my daily driver but i really want something else so i can park mine since its in such good shape. the ranger is my dads and has alot of sentimental value to it. we dont really want to get rid of it but the lady of the house is getting demanding with the "junk" in the yard. it has 250k+ miles on it so it deffinately needs redone. im also use to my v8 so i want a performance build (you wouldnt believe the price difference between f150 and ranger aftermarket parts). with that being said what are my options and what problems may i run across?
i know the transmission will definately need rebuilt along with the motor. for the motor im wanting to atleast rebuild the top end if not the whole motor. im thinking oversized pistons, cam, and headers. it has mass air so the computer should be fine and be able to compensate for the build correct?
what about the transmission? anything i can upgrade there?
its going to be my daily driver and probably a pavement princess but it will be getting the t bars cranked and probably a body lift since the bushings are already shot and need replaced anyway.
any ideas and suggestions are welcomed.
