Good day to all. Picked up a '96 extended cab ranger with a 2.3 L/5 spd just before Christmas. Once I got it home, I let it set a couple of days before looking at it once again. When I got back to it, I used the electric locks to lock the truck, then, remembering something that I needed to get out of the passenger seat, I used the key to unlock the passenger door. This set the horn off. It took me to start the truck to get it to stop.
The previous owner told me later that this happened to him a few times, but he never received a remote to it when he bought it. He owned it for about 9 years. Is this an alarm rearing its ugly head, or something else entirely. Secondly, Ford has no way
of telling if this truck was produced with an alarm or not, as a collective on this site, is there something that would lead me one way or another.
Thanks, all.
