hy guys, my bro recently purchased a 00 ranger ext cab, the thing has the next issue:
when u turn on the engine the airbag light and pass switch dont work, the system then gives the warning beep sequence, 5 beeps ina 6 times sequence
for now i just unplugged the airbag controller under the dash, that way the beeper is out, but what could be giving the real problem? the airbags are there
i was reading some stuff like this minutes ago and maybe the failure is in the seat belt restraining system?? maybe the connectors under the seats? i believe those are for the srs?:dunno:
any help will be apreciated
thanks:icon_thumby:

The 5 beeps are for the seat belt restraint system. Its telling you to put your seatbelt on. On 2000's its just the drivers seat. There is a plug under the rear center of the seat, check that first.

That proceedure may fix your problem but the TSB is for 2001-2003 whick have pre-tensioners, a 2000 doesn't have the pre-tensioners

yeah i noticed that too:sad:
well ill try it and i hope it helps
the weird thing is that the seatbelt light doesnt work , and none of the airbags lights either, the dash and the passenger switch:dunno:

With everything hooked up does the air bag light flash when you turn on the key? If so count the flashes and post the code.

no no light at all, i tryed everuthing u guys posted and still nothing

the dinger will stop after you replace the airbag light. the dinger is a backup for the airbag system when the light its burnt. just changed it in my 98.
