As you may already know, I was in a wreck a couple weeks ago and my airbags deployed.

Well the Ranger is once again drivable even though it still has some front end damage. I have the parts ordered to make it sexy again and they should be here within a week.

My questions are these. My father and I removed the airbag in the steering wheel and the passenger side. Now I have these huge holes in my interior where they used to be. Would it be cheaper to buy new bags even though they won't be able to go off or does someone sell some kind of fake "cover" for this?

And obviously, my airbag light is on. It's showing a code 19, which I've done some research on it and most people say it's because my RCM Crash Data is full. The truck knows that it's been in a wreck and the airbags deployed. Most people are saying that the way to get it to go away is to replace the RCM. Is this correct? And if so, is it expensive?

take out the cluster and remove the bulb, easy and cheap, also unplug the restraint module under the dash, under the cup holder in the middle of the floor, that way the warning beeps from the deployed airbag system will be out, dont worry it wont be any dangerous, it wont interfeer with nothing else, you can try to fix your airbag covers with some fiber glass from behind, then bondo a bit to seal the scar, paint it and there u have your cover again!

Well removing the bulb was one of the choices I thought of, other than removing the fuse, disconnecting the battery or clearing it with a code reader.

I was just going to buy the part, if that's what it took, if it was cheap and a simple install. But if not, then I'll just do like I posted above. I'll probably end up buying another bag off Ebay, they seem cheap enough.
