airaid CAI w/ stock intake tube vs K&N w/ their tube

what you are seeing in those speed shop test rigs is a tesd displaying that the K&N may be flowing 3 times what the engine needs while the stock type filter is only flowing 1-1/2times.

More than the engine needs is more then the engine needs.

It's like the demonstrator rig for that "tornado" device.

They take two pairs of bottles connected neck to neck and one filled with water
when the one with the water is on top the one with the tornado flows into the lower bottle faster.

the demonstrator is grossly misleading because the test rig depends on the fact that the AIR in the lower bottle muct get up to the upper bottle past the water that is flowing down.

In an actual demonstration of what is happening with an engine
the air is being SUCKED in

you can more accurately demonstrate an engine by making another pair of bottle connected the same way but have a vacuum pump connected to the lower one
and a big hole in the upper one.

and in that test demo the water will disappear from the
upper one faster than the eye can follow.
If you insert a tornado in that test setup the tornado shows
what it REALLY does RESTRICTS flow.
