ok so when i got my ranger the intake had a hole in it but he had it "fixed" by wrapping duct tape around it. So i decided it was time to go ahead and replace it. what is a good intake for a 1993 3.0? i was even thinking going aftermarket cold air intake as well. any suggestions?

The factory intake is 'cold air'.

Your best bet is to go to a Junkyard and find a replacement intake tube. I cant see it costing more than 10$

well like i said i was also looking at aftermarket stuff. not just the plain old boring tube... lol i was hoping to get one that would help performance. i know with the 3.0 nothing will probably help that much. But now at least maybe you really know what i lookin for. but if you cant tell i dont really know much about cars mechanical wise.. so all info is appreciated! and if i should stick with just what i got except getting a new one to replace it thats cool also.

Adding an aftermarket intake tube and or filter will not help performance at all. It's all hogwash.

If you want a shiny chrome intake, that's cool. But don't expect any performance gains from it.

Your best bet is replacing the factory tube with a good one, and it will be the cheapest as well.

All true. The only thing you get with an aftermarket "cold air intake" is noise and hotter air going into the motor.

ok so stupid question. you said hotter air going in. is that good? bad? or does it even make a difference?
