i own a saturn sl1/2 whatever the hell it is, 1.9l 4 cylinder, good gas mileage car. yesterday it was like 104 outside so i charged my a/c it blows decent, enough to make me not sweat, but not what i want.

i ride in all these newer cars and the a/c is blasting ice cold. like on my dads 1998 toyota tacoma.

would replacing the air conditioning unit in the car help? it is the original as far as i know.

How did you recharge it? Did you vacuum the system first? Replace receiver/drier?

It sounds like you don't know what to do. Take it to a reputable mechanic that you know or trust.

Sent from the road while ignoring traffic

Take it to a real shop, they'll pull a vacuum on it and make sure the system is at it's optimum. They'll also check for leaks/damaged components.

The other thing is to look at replacing the clutch, they do wear out and will start slipping. I've heard this makes a huge difference.
