Was wondering if I could install a/c off a 4.0 and put it into a 2.9? I know they are similar engines but the 2.9 has v belts so I'm thinking they're not compatible. Both are complete trucks but the compressor looks like it mounts differently. Suggestions?

In this case I suggest not trying. I am in the process of putting the AC back together in my 88 BII, after a 4.0 swap. There are many many differences. The compressors are not compatible because not only are the pullies different, so are the lines. And then for the 2.9 both inlet and outlet of the condenser are on the passenger side, the 4.0 has them on opposite sides. It is a mess unless you start with all the right part.

ok I'll go to a local pic n save and get the parts I need. What should I be getting? I have the interior switch
