what are the two wires that connect to the top of the air cleaner box? and what would happen if i took them off?

they are vacuum lines, they operate the heat riser door, if you live in a cold climate it is probably wise to leave them on there.

I took all that out when I went to the K&N cone. I live in Maine and had no problem in the Winter

i just put homemade cool air intake in today and it sounds so bada$$ i know it doesnt increase power but it did increase throttle response

i took mine out, i cut the sensor out of case and re-pluged it, seems fine
