Good news, y'all. The '84 LIVES!!! It has its fair share of issues, but I'll address those over time.

The time has come for me to make a decision. Either I can try to restore the crusty old breather housing or get an aftermarket option. What is a good aftermarket option?

OR

If I'm going to refresh the old housing (dented pretty badly), do I connect anything to it since doing the Duraspark conversion? And also, I wish to add appropriate decals to mine, something believable. "171 cid" or "2.8" maybe. Were there ever any decals from the factory? What would be recommended for this? I'm figuring the high temps under the hood may not bode well for regular old decals over a long period.

Thanks!

You can buy a small aftermarket chrome aircleaner for it. It's not the greatest since it pulls hot underhood air into the engine, but the sound it makes when shifting gears more than makes up for any power loss. It's a lot of fun to hear that little 2.8 sucking that air into the carb.
