im looking to build a extension to my center console that goes upto the dash to better mount my CB and to add a few switches and gauges.

my question is would it be possible to move the aribag switch or should i just eliminate it all togeather?

extending the wires u can relocate it
i think removing it will mess the airbag module

hmmm i was kinda hopeing to eliminate it lol oh well ill just have to see how it mounts and incorporate it into the console should be fun this will be my first time building one =)

Do you have a child that you carry in the front seat? If not i wouldn't really worry about even covering it up. Just another idea. Since you have a new(er) truck I wouldn't worry about the light in the switch burning out like mine did. but just to be on the safe side you could always make the console removable some how. Just my ideas/$0.02

at the moment i dont but hope in the future to have a little ranger lover =) that would be a pretty good idea to just cover it hmmm i could maybe put in a door for access of it in the side :icon_thumby:

yeah that's what I was thinking. Just a small door like the fuse panel cover for example.

i ripped into the dash today to mock up the extension i want to build and i believe i solved the switch issue there is enough wire on it for it to come down and mount faceing out the driver side of the extension to still be used =)

it started getting dark so i had to put it on hold till tomorrow i can start the building process and have some pics up soon of the progress

here is a progress report on it i could only work on it in between the down pours lol but got a lot done i still have to finish mount the airbag switch but in the first u can see how much wire it has =) gonna need a bit of paint too lol

i know its not a top notch fab work but it serves the purpose no more wires hanging all over

That looks awesome dude.

If I didn't have manual trans and 4x4 I'd have you come build one for me.
