Replaced my grill today and noticed this when I took off the old one.



Welllllll bummer. Popped the hood and took a look from the top



Lemme guess- frame is shot? needs to get weld repaired? I don't even know if I should be driving on this.

We looking inside the back of the bumper? looks to me like bumper was hit, bent, replaced, but they did not bend the bumper bracket back into place if that's your only problem you're good to go you, it can be fixed.

I'm more worried about the GIANT CRACK down the middle of that piece in the first pic. The car was for sure hit at some point- the bumper sags and it has a dent on the driver corner. I missed this damage though. The second picture shows that this cracked piece is attached to the frame.

I'd take it to a frame shop and get an estimate. It may be worth repairing if the rest of the truck is in good shape.

Doesn't look like the end if the world to me. That's way out in front of anything real important and it should be fixable. If it was mine, I would look for other damage and have the alignment checked. If it can be aligned or is still aligned within spec, the rest of the frame probably isn't tweaked bad enough to worry about. Make sure the engine mounts aren't damaged. If in doubt, have a good body/frame shop check it out.

If that just the end where the bumper bolts on it's no big deal... Smack it back on place and weld it up, the crack is on the end cap, like they said if it's still alignable don't fret, justake sure the bumper won't fall off.

yeah....not an issue if you deem it not worth funding or wasting effort to repair till our good and damn well ready.

I concur. I see no "real" frame damage. The frame rail itself does not appear damaged just the bumper bracket. I wouldn't lose any sleep over that unless the truck has alignment issues indicative of a bent frame rail.

Both my Ranger and F350 crab walk down the road, I know what caused the Ranger issue, no idea on the F350 (346k on the clock, I've only put 25k of that on it...), that isn't anything to worry about. That's just the bumper bracket, hammer it back out so the bumper can be bolted on right and call it good, no need to weld up that seam on the top, it won't do much...
