:dunno: I am getting ready to pull my exhaust manifolds off my 2.8 to add headers. I have never did this and know I will break bolts. So I am asking for advice and tips on the best way to take the bolts off, and what to do if I break a bolt. I know there is a lot of smart people on TRS, so please help me out. Thanks

Lot's of PB Blaster or Kroil for a few days prior and maybe some heat. If it breaks, you have to drill it out.

You can reach both sides if you remove the front wheels and the splash cover IIRC.

Also, if you do a search in this forum, the exhaust forum, you'll find all kinds of threads asking the same question.

hit each bolt with a hammer several times and a bunch of pb blaster. it works. thats how ive done it.

but if you plan on it being a daily driver i really dont recomend headers. you can open up the exhaust a few ways without headers.
