Mods, please move this if there is a more appropriate place for this question. It just spans so many areas of the Forum that I'm not sure where to put it.

I have a 200-6 from a 65 mustang that I am possibly going to try transplanting into a Ranger. The Mustang had a C-3, the Ranger has an A4LD.

Does anyone know if AA (or any other company) makes a plate to mount the 200 to the A4? Any other solutions for mounting this engine and transmission together will work too.

Thanks guys.

Are you sure you want to put that much torque in front of the A4LD? It sounds like a grenade to me.

Well here is the deal. Kip needs a new engine. Cheap. Our options at this point are:

1) Try rebuilding his 2.8
2) Try rebuilding my 200-6 and swap it in to his ranger
3) try to find a good 2.9 and put it (along with all related wires, fuel system upgrades, and such.

I'm still exploring options at this point, but one of the restrictions that's been put on this little project is that we have to leave the auto in the truck so that his mom can still drive it. I have the C-3 that came with the 200, but it leaks badly and I'm not sure what kind of shape it's in.

The other reason I'm asking is that if we decide to go with something other than the 200 I may use it in a future Ranger project with the WC direct injection head. At that point I'm probably going to try to attach it to an RBV transmission.

Use the money you would have spent at Advance Adapters to find a good used C3, it will be a lot cheaper then buying the adapter, and then a new A4LD every 6 months until you decide to upgrade it.

Well if I use it on one then it's going to be a 5 speed, not an auto, in which case I still probably need an adapter since most of the manuals used with that engine would be 2wd 4-speeds.
