I have a 83 ranger originally had a 2.0 4 speed.
I did a 2.3 turbo swap along with a 5 speed swap.
Well for some reason back in 83 they didn't see a need for a clutch safety switch.
So with that being said i want to add one, so i have a few questions.

1. I assume the switch is a pretty simple switch, meaning only 2 wires and the connection is broke until you press the pedal down?
2. Also does anyone have a pinout of this connector for let say a 88 ranger.
3. My plan is to use a switch from a 88 ranger as its the newest year that shared the same pedal cage as my 83, i only know this cause i swapped my pedal cage too when i went from manual to power brakes.

I think all of your assumptions are correct. The switch needs to be open until the pedal is on the floor. The wire that powers the starter solenoid needs to go through that switch.

that would be great if its the case.
