I have a 2006 Ranger Sport Extended cab four door. I installed the Pioneer factory optional in dash six player CD. I also installed a four channel amplifier since this head unit needed an amplifier. I also have four Pioneer 6 x 8 speakers installed. My overall problem is I don't seem to have any bass, just very loud and clear. I wanted to know if I could add a separate 8" subwoofer speaker? How is this wired into my system. The Pioneer has low level outputs going to an RCA converter and then to the Sony amplifier RCA inputs. The unit has standard terminal outputs for four separate speakers. Could this Pioneer head unit need its factory designed amplifier in order to produce bass?

Well if you have another set of RCAs to use just run them to another amp for a sub.
