thank you for not turning to a cap. it wil just lighen your wallet. do the big three first and see were you stand

the big three is good to do no matter what......are you head lights dimming.

get creative with mounting it... all you really need is a reinforced tray that you can put the battery on and then secure it down somehow. if it will fit, just buy a whole new OEM battery mounting assembly, at least you know that design works and you won't have to fab anything (well you might have to tweak the shape or something a little bit, but for the most part it would seem to be rather easy.

I did one on my 94, its documented in my build thread pretty well. basically you need to get an extra tray from a parts truck and then make yourself a bracket that will mount to the inner fender well and support be able to support the weight of a group 58 battery. im using a 58-540 battery in mine and ive got a 3-way toggle mounted in the dash so i can connect or isolate my battery depending on what my needs are for the day.

@4x4fun My headlights barely dim and if they do its when I am cranking it to the max, and maybe the stock mounts will work i just need to find one from a junkyard @ForOffRoadDriving how did you set up your toggle switch? im interested in that lol

idk his, but you can use a batt switch they use on boats, the have a high constant currant capability

im using a 200amp continuous duty solenoid with the switched posts and i have the toggle switch wired to control the solenoid. in the up position (i have a green indicator light above it) the second battery is connected with the ignition on, in the middle it off all together, and in the down position ( i have a red indicator light below it) the second battery is connected when the igniton is off. so if i want to go to a party in a field and use my radio i will turn my switch to the off position so that once it gets late and my battery has been drawn down i can flip the switch to the up postion and start it right up, kind of like a drunken fail safe. or if im using a winch or have all my off road lights and im idling i can turn the battery on to help feed the load. ill post a link to the page where my dual battery set up starts (post #35 is where i start): http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37621&page=3
