Im in the process of choosing a lift kit for my '96 mazda b4000 and am wondering if its better to go with adda leafs or block setups for the rear axle?

Right now its a tie between the superlift kit and the tuff country kit (both are about 700 dollars for the standard 4in lift kit). Preferences? Opinions?

The superlift kit comes with blocks for the rear, the tuff country kit comes with add a leafs.

The tuff country hands down, it rannks about 3rd from the top in the TTb lifts, first being Skyjacker, second being James Duff, third being tough country. The only good thing super lift makes for the TTB is the superrunner steering. I say go Tuff Country.

Done deal, tuff country will be the kit then.

I've heard great things though about superlifts superrunner steering system, I may eventually have to invest in that or build my own.

I agree on the tough country kit, but on the block versus aal debate, it depends on what you will be using the lift for. If you're going for flex, the block is going to give you the same flex you have now, while the add a leaf will stiffen up the spring pack considerably. Just something to think about. The best route would be probably to get the chev drop shackles, and put in a single block to replace your stock block that makes up the ride height difference. You might want to think about traction bars or a single bar to take care of spring wrap.

Right now the lift will be me getting my truck off the pavement a little, with little to no offroad use (maybe the occasional, run to the mountains with quads).

Later i guess i can add entirly new leafs springs that accomplish flex and lifted ride height as funds become available along with extended radius arms too.

Go tuff country with the block for now then. The ride will better than the superlift as the coils are a bit softer than theirs.
