Add a gauge cluster with Tachometor

Have a 94 super cab 3.0 5 speed, does not have a tach. If I get a gauge cluster with a tach is the wiring in place to make it work? In other words is it "plug&play" Also are the auto clusters compatable (other than the gear indicator of course)?

Did my '95 a few months back (different dash than a '94, I realize), picked up a '95 exploder cluster w/tach, and it worked perfectly, minus the temp gauge reading a bit low, which is a known issue that has been reported many times.

Just find a vehicle with the same cluster (93-94) dosen't matter what engine or vehicle it's out of. And swap them. everything is plug and play. I have a 94 2.3 5spd and am using a cluster out of a 94 explorer 4.0 auto. everything works great. only thing you might have to do is swap the auto display with the blank one out of your 5sp cluster which is as easy as removing 2 bolts swaping and replacing the 2 bolts. have fun.

You can get a cluster from either a 90 - 94 explorer or an 89 - 94 ranger. they should be the same cluster essentially.

the ones with the yellow background instead of the green (earlier models) are not compatible. just get one that's the same.

On the same subject, I have a 97 Ranger 2wd 5 spd with the 2.3 and no tach. Will the cluster from a 98 Ranger with the 2.5 plug into my 97?
