Hey Guys

I would like to Start a Thread explaining how you wired your Accessories!!!

A Google Search will lead to alot of information but you must go through tons of information before you find what you really need!!!

Therefore lets try to bring it to one place: Questions are more then Welcome!!! As i have a few as well, there are many many different ways to do this, so lets hear what you've done!!

Dual Batteries (Solenoid or... Etc)
Aux. Lights
CB Radios
E-Fans
Stereo (Although there is a dedicated Area)
Inverters
Winches

I Will Start:

I used Used Painlesses #40102 Dual Bat Setup, Wired to A Optima Red top, and Blue Top. This gives me the freedom of a three position switch..
1. Allows only the red top to be activated Used when i'm running my inverter for my laptop and charging my phone... TV.. or using my winch if the truck is turned off!!
2. Both are connected for charging and starting (mainly used) only with the turn of the key!!! therefore if the truck is off, batteries are disconnected!! (i think!!)

Here's my Question: Since i have wired the batteries Seporatly (IE.. Aux Lights not running off both red and blue top and stereo only running off red top) the discharge rate is not effected... Correct??? What about the Charging Rate???? would the regulartor Know to send different Charging rates to each batt. or am i hurting one of the batteries doing this? I have contacted Optima and they... well... i don't think understood what i was asking and suggested two yellow tops to be used (Which is all good but... well thats alot of money lol and i'm pretty sure BEFORE the yellow top, everyone was doing it similarly to my setup) Anyways I'm Not sure, They made me second guess everything!!!:dunno:

3. Same as Number 2 but are connected even without the turn of the key, Just incase your running low on fuel and still have to weld, use the inverter etc!!! and need the extra amps!!!

Continuing: My Aux. Lights for the front, Below and Rear of my Truck run off the blue Top... (I've heard many different setups but i prefer this), My Winch and Inverter are hooked up to the Blue Top as well, (Again people also do this differently, however with the switch in position #2 (Charging both batteries) i can run the winch, essentially, off the alternator.... I Think!!! and if the truck is off, i turn it to position #1 and isolate the aux. for the winch to use and keep the main bat to start my truck)

My Stereo is hooked up to the red top, as well as my CB Radio and E-Fan. and trucks wiring system!!! including head lights and fog lights!!!

I have attached a wiring Diagram for everything i have done!!! Tell me what you guys think... The winch is the one i've heard so many different ways to wire... Anyways... Lets see if we can put together some extra wiring information
