Accelerator pump

I recently installed a new accelerator pump, in the process I lost the stem out of the housing. I have so far been unable to locate one at the usual parts store. Any suggestions as to where I can find one?

I have pictures, can't seem to get them downloaded!

Welcome to TRS :)

Looks like an autoline C8188 carb
Not usual Motorcraft 2100/2150 carb

Not sure if that part will be available as a separate piece.
Maybe look for old autoline carbs at wrecking yards, most are scrapped but you could get lucky.

Or just make what you need from wood or plastic dowel, drill one end and slot the other end
It doesn't need to seal anything it is on the back side off the diaphragm, the air side

Some carb kits have one its more like a sleeve and a normal wear item. Are you still running the feedback carb?

Thanks for the info! Still running the feedback carb, gathering parts for a conversion this winter.

Thanks for the link AndyB, I do have a temporary fix in place, but it is very temporary. I have a new one on the way. Being a very shade tree mechanic, what exactly do you mean by "the correct capacity"?

There is a certain volume of gasoline held by the diaphragm for injection into the carburetor when you step on the gas. Aftermarket companies tend to make universal parts--one that kind-of works over a broad range of applications. I don't have an aftermarket unit on hand to compare against the motorcraft part, but I think I remember them shooting more gas than the originals.

These carburetors can be finicky to get running correctly, I've always been glad when I've tracked down and used original parts.
