Can anyone give me the capacity of r134a that goes into a 91 ford ranger 2.3l.
AI is saying from 22 to 24 oz. Some other posts said 30 oz. My sticker on the core support is gone .

Best thing is to have the larger quantity ready and available. But fill the system by watching pressures on the gauges and calculating proper operating pressures at current ambient temperature.

I actually just found it in my service manual. It says 32 oz plus 4 minus 0. I would guess that means minimum 32 but no more than 36. This is also for r12 so I don’t know if there is a difference.

That says 36oz of R-12 plus 7oz of mineral oil.

If you're converting to R-134A, those numbers are NOT accurate. Start with 80% and add more if indicated by your gauges. I forget what oil you are supposed to use with conversions. You need to totally flush the mineral oil out of the system if you are converting it as well.

yeah it is 36oz . The ford service manual has it listed in pounds , oz and a metric measurement. This system was converted new before I bought it. PAG oil is what is used.
Thanks for the info. I debating at this point if I just want to take it to the local shop and have them hook up their machine and do it.

Since it's converted already - can you tell if it has any refrigerant in the system or is it just low because of a slow leak?

If it's empty I would have your shop fill it and find the leak so you're not wasting refrigerant. If it's low, one of those refill kits is what I would use. The gauges on those are usually kinda janky but will get you close.
