ABS went out suddenly

Hello everyone, today my ABS stopped working suddenly. No ABS light, fluid is full, just no ABS when the front wheels lock up. Resulted in my almost sliding through a stoplight (it worked on the previous light). I went to a backroad and locked up the brakes 20 times just trying to see if the light would come on. I am going to bleed them tomorrow and look for frayed wires etc.

Any other troubleshooting thoughts as I approach this issue? I've never had an ABS issue before.

I replaced the ABS sensor on my 94 and it lives on top of the differential. It has been a while but there are videos on how to test it. I did also have a low fluid condition that set the ABS light. Make sure your ABS lamp lights up during key on.

If you are talking about your '93 Ranger, you only have rear wheel ABS, so that won't do jack about the front wheels skidding...

My advice would be to chuck the light bulb in the trash and learn to drive without ABS. It causes more problems than it solves anyway.

MY 93's ABS never worked. Way better that way and safer in my opinion. Plus ABS usually doesn't work in the snow worth a damn.
