Hi I have a 99 Ranger 2wd with the 3.0 auto (4R44E) transmission.
Yesterday my ABS lights came on, the speedometer quit working, and it won’t shift out of first. I put a new (ABS/VSS) sensor on my rear housing. Then I started it up, the ASB light went out, I thought I had it fix, but road tested, it still wont shift, and the speedometer still don’t work, the only thing the new ABS/VSS sensor fix was the ABS light are now out.
Would anyone know what to try next? Thanks JLSIOWA

there should be another speed sensor on the rear housing of the trans. Make sure its still plugged in and if so I would replace that one.
